Hello beautiful people, I know it's been a while! I'm so sorry for not being very present, I have been very busy with uni, which is going really well at the moment and I am really enjoying the course. I love the modules in my degree!
Anyways, moving on... I thought today I would share with you guys the reason why I have been all about coconut water recently, I'm genuinely obsessed with the stuff, not only does it taste delicious and refreshing, the list of health benefits goes on and on.
Anyways, moving on... I thought today I would share with you guys the reason why I have been all about coconut water recently, I'm genuinely obsessed with the stuff, not only does it taste delicious and refreshing, the list of health benefits goes on and on.
To begin with, for all of you sporty people, coconut water is packed full of potassium which not only reduces your blood pressure and prevents you from having a stoke but also prevents you from getting a stitch during exercise. It is also full of electrolytes, which helps to balance out the fluid levels in your body, something that is very important especially after exercising as it replenishes the important electrolytes in our body. |
Unlike coconut milk, coconut water is naturally fat free, so if your looking to maintain or cut down on your calories coconut water is the way to go. One 240 ml cup equates to only 46 calories and includes fiber, protein, vitamin C, potassium, maganese, magnesuim, calcium and sodium. So basically lots of essential good stuff! |
There are also various research projects that suggest coconut water can decrease cholesterol, prevent heart disease, kidney stones and can fight against diabetes. These statements are not officially confirmed as the studies are not reliable enough, however they do indicate that ingesting coconut water does have these benefits and there is no counter argument to prove that they do not! I'm sure these claims will either be confirmed or dismissed sometime in the near future!

Another thing that I wanted to add is that drinking coconut water doesn't have to cost you an arm and a leg! I buy mine from Asda and I always go to one of their big supermarkets because I know that they will have it there in their 'free from' section. It only costs me £1.65 for a one litre carton of 100 percent pure coconut water. Which is much cheaper than the 1 litre Vita Coco option that they have in the fridge area that costs £3.50. So if you do go to buy some make sure your not unnecessarily spending extra money!
So give it a try, and see what you think... Do you agree with me? Personally I can't get enough of the the good stuff! I always have a glass in the morning, I either shove it my Nutribullet blender with a bunch of fruit and veg or just drink it alone, both taste amazing btw!
