PRODUCTS THAT HAVE BEEN WOWING ME.

Hello everyone, today I am going to be showing you four of the different products that have really impressed me recently. I have been trying and testing a lot of different products recently and really evaluating which ones have that WOW factor that makes you think that you'll use them until the end of time.
Picture
Soap and Glory glad hair day shampoo and conditioner- Targeted to repair and strengthen hair this is perfect for anybody with fine or damaged hair, I have found that my hair looks much thicker and as though it has much more volume. They are suitable for any hair types including coloured and leave your hair smelling fresh clean and flowery.

Clinique clarifying lotion- In January I bought the Clinique three- step skincare kit for normal to combination skin, I wasn't keen on the cleanser or moisturizer however the toner made my face feel fresh, clean and as though all of the dirt had been completely removed from my face, the only thing that I will say is that you should put on a moisturizer after use because it does dry out your skin.

Volume glamorous max holidays mascara by Bojois- This is currently my go-to mascara because it glides onto the lashes beautifully leaving no clumpy parts behind and extending the lashes out for a fuller look. It's also waterproof which is important if you decide to go swimming anywhere.

Sensationail polish to gel transformer kit- This has most impressed me, I was truly shocked when I found out that you could mix a specially formulated gel varnish with a normal every day nail varnish to create a gel nail varnish in the colour that you want. I decided to mix one of my favourite red varnishes with the gel and used the UV lamp that came with the polish to cure my nails and whala, you have a gel manicure that will last you for two weeks!

I hope you found this post interesting and helpful to read, after all that's what i'm here for.

THE TRICK TO SOFT, SMOOTH SKIN. ~ BOTANICALS SKINCARE

Today I am going to be introducing you to the upcoming skincare brand Botanicals. Botanicals was first set up as a small company in some restored stables in 2004 where they would produce their uniquely formulated potions and lotions.
The aim of Botanicals is to provide personal care products as close to nature as possible, their products are pure, safe and fully conform to the European Cosmetics Products Safety Regulations.
All formulations are free from skin irritants such as petrochemicals, sodium lauryl/laureth sulphate and propylene glycol, and so if you are a sufferer of very sensitive skin (like me) then you are unlikely to have an allergic reaction to Botanicals products.
All products from Botanicals are cruelty free and suitable for vegetarians. One of the main things that I appreciate about Botanicals is that they are very sustainable and use biodegradable products and recyclable/ recycled packaging.
Some of the awards given to Botanicals are shown below:
(Apologies if they seen blurry).

I was sent two items to review from Botanicals, the first one is the nourishing face balm.

Picture
The aim of the nourishing face balm is to soften and enhance the texture of your skin and is made entirely of active plant ingredients this supports the skin to regenerate new and healthy skin cells. There is no water to bulk up this balm meaning that a small amount will last a long time, I would recommend using half a pea size of balm when applying to the face.
The key ingredients in the nourishing face balm consist of-
  • Shea butter
  • Grapeseed oil
  • White and green tea extracts
  • Wild rose
  • Palmarosa and rose geranium.

Picture
I have been using this face balm for a couple of weeks now and I have definitely noticed that my skin feels much softer, I found that it has a better consistency than usual face balm and moisturizer because it has a thickness somewhere in between the two and so it is not too thick and still allows your skin to breathe, but it is thick enough to make your face perfectly soft. I love the smell of this balm as it is tangy and zingy and does not have any added fragrance and so smells amazing naturally.
I would definitely recommend this face balm to anybody with very Dry and sensitive skin, it is £22.50 for 30g and can be found on the Botanicals website here:
http://www.botanicals.co.uk/natural-face-balm-rose-camellia/

The next product that I am going to be talking to you about is the rose and camellia moisturizer.

Picture
I found that this moisturizer smelt similarly to the face balm, however it was much creamier and absorbed into my skin faster, it nourishes the skin daily keeping it healthy and hydrated. It also promotes the skins natural balance. One pump of moisturizer is absolutely plenty when evenly scattered around the face and neck.
The key ingredients are:
  • Shea butter
  • Cocoa butter
  • Rosehip oil
  • Aloe vera
  • Carrot oil
  • White tea extract
  • Green tea extract
  • Wild rose
  • Rose geranium
  • Ylang and palmarosa essential oils
Picture
The pump dispenser is good for the hygiene of the product and helps with ease of use. The packaging is beautiful and I love the dark little bottle and the cute font used on the outer sticker of the bottle. The moisturizer glides onto the skin nicely and smoothly, a small amount goes far.
I would recommend this product to anybody with mature or dry skin as it is very hydrating and thick. There are products that Botanicals sell for all sorts of different skin types. It is £22.50 for a 30ml bottle and can be found on their website here:
http://www.botanicals.co.uk/natural-face-moisturiser-rose-camellia/

Overall I think that the brand is reliable and provides good quality items for the price, both items I have tested have proven to make my skin feel super smooth and healthy and I would recommend trying Botanicals out.

Thank you for reading, I hope you found this review helpful in finding your everyday skincare essentials.

                              BRUSHWORKS NEW IMPLEMENTS RANGE

9/6/2016

Hello everyone, today I will be sharing with you the exciting new launch of Brush Works      brand mew range called Brush Work Implements, this range consists of manicure tools and accessories and today I am going to be sharing with you their crystal glass file, slanted tweezers and precision scissors.
Every one of these new implements is stylish, professional quality, eye- catching and of a good price, so why bother going to the salon to get your nails done when you can do them yourself with your own implements at home.
The pricing of the new work implements range between £1.49 to £6.99 and the range consists of-
  • Nail clippers
  • Crystal sticks
  • Emery boards
  • Precision manicure scissors
  • Toe separators
  • Foot files
  • Curlers
  • Tweezers
  • Cosmetic pencil sharpeners
  • Compact mirrors
A large range of items to choose from right? Now I am going to be reviewing three of the new items from brushworks.

Picture
The precision scissors cut even the tiniest amount of nail perfectly without leaving your nail weak at the ends. When I used these nail scissors I found that it was easy to get the perfect angle to the ends of my nails. They are designed for accurate trimming and cutting and are crafted in high quality stainless steel with precision cut blades for the perfect trim.
Overall the scissors are of a very high quality and at a purse friendly price of £5.99 why not give it a go!

Picture
The slanted tweezers are made from stainless steel and have perfectly aligned finished tips (so you won’t have the disappointment of opening up a pair of tweezers that don’t even tweez! I hate it when that happens). The tips are slanted for precise tweezing and Brushworks recommend that for the best results you should tweez in the direction of your hair growth, one hair at a time.
I was happy with the tweezers, what I was most impressed with was that the appearance of them is amazing, literally, the entire tweezer apart from the tip is purple with shiny sparkles and it has the word brushworks written on it in white with a little flower next to it (as their logo), I thought they were adorable. I use them on my eyebrows and they work really well to get me the perfectly arched brow.
Overall I would recommend these to anybody, I was very impresses and will definitely be getting them again, especially as they are only £2.99.

Picture
My favourite item of the three was the crystal glass file, it is designed to be gentle on the nail and give a clean, smooth and superior finish. I fell in love with it when I saw it, as the pink to white ombre effect is really cute and I like how the glass is clear at the end with the logo on it.
I used this nail file after trimming my nails with the precision scissors to round off and smoothen the corners, the two tools work perfectly together to give your nails the perfect shape that you desire.
I much prefer glass nail files to emery boards as I personally feel that they are of a higher quality and they last longer, however if you are a fan of emery boards they do offer them in the new Brush Works Implements range.

Overall I was very very happy with this glass file and I would get one again, but I have a feeling that this one is going to last a LONG time.

Straight hair beauty tips from a hairdresser

5/6/2016

Hey everyone, today we have been lucky enough to have some advice from a professional hairdresser, telling us how to take care of straight hair, so without further a do, here's what she has to say.
I have been a hairdresser all my adult life and work for scissor paper rock , when it comes to straight hair have often been told by my fellow hairdresser ," Use volumizing hair products." Many others have suggested, "Use a curling iron, it works!"

Well, well, as a girl with fine straight hair, I have also had my personal struggles with limp not to mention lifeless hair strands; so if you are like me, you surely know the struggle is real. Unlike women with curly hair or normal hair texture who can get away with little hair neglect, fine straight hair on the other hand screams for attention when neglected.

Below are beauty tips from a professional that work magic on fine straight hair.

Wash your hair often

Unlike our curly hair friends who actually benefit from natural oil build up due to the dry nature of their hair, as soon as my fine hair gets oily, it becomes weighed down and the grease makes it limper hence the need for frequent washing. Again of course, don’t overdo it.

Apply from top to bottom

If you are lathering your fine straight hair with conditioner, this could actually be your undoing and especially if you are applying it at the roots. This is because conditioner is used to smoothen out hair strands making them soft and glossy and with fine hair; you really don’t need much of this. Apply it sparingly.

No sleeping on wet hair

I have noted that when I sleep on wet hair, it has unsightly kinks in the morning that are difficult to get rid of without a straightening iron. To my utter disappointment, thin hair unlike thicker hair doesn’t have a natural bounce-sorry to inform you that. Well, the only exception is to braid your wet hair as you sleep. For sure, you will wake up to some waves but nothing close to what you see in celebrity photos.

Let your hair dry 100% before leaving the house

I may not be able to prove this scientifically, but I have realized that when I brush my hair fully when it is dry, it’s able to achieve that maximum bounce. Drying your hair 100% with a brush and especially from different angles can give it a lift.

Blow dry your hair upside down

Flip your head backwards as your blow dry is the best way to get to the roots. Just remember to also spray it for that extra shine and volume.

Avoid using lots of products

If you use the wrong products for your fine straight hair, it will clump together and look flatter and also thinner which is not what you want. Look for products that are gentle with fine hair and those that do not weigh it down.

Volumizing products make fine hair appear fuller as they work by coating the hair. Just make sure that they are made for fine textured hair. What you need to do is experiment with a bit just to ensure it doesn’t weigh your hair down.

Experiment with a light texturizing spray

While I tend to avoid heavy gels or mousse, there are products that are great for fine hair such as John Masters Organics Sea Mist with Lavender which works great.

Avoid using plastic comb on dry hair

Using a plastic comb on your dry hair is known to make it static. So, it’s advisable to use a metal comb.

If going for curls, use lots of hairspray

While creating curls on straight hair can be tricky, use hairspray for an extra texture boost while curling with an iron or waving your hair.

Sorry, No bangs

If you ask me, my experience is that if adding volume to my hair is already a problem, I doubt that cutting it off to make bangs will help. Moreover, bangs can end up looking thin and wispy and I highly doubt whether this is the look you are yearning for.

Get a professional to back comb your hair

In my opinion, this is a wise move to make, reason being that a professionally done hairstyle can give your hair that extra lift it so needs. That is what we are here for.

When stringy, tie it in a ponytail

A ponytail always looks great on women with fine straight hair. Just be sure not to pull it too tight.

These great beauty tips are what has worked for me. Try them out and see if you have the same experience. Best of luck!
